CSR: PSA ranked first in the auto industry by Vigeo
PSA Peugeot Citroën is the only carmaker included in the Euronext Vigeo World 120 index at 1 December 2015. The index comprises the world's 120 highest-ranking companies in terms of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Following a nearly six-month evaluation process, socially responsible investment (SRI) rating agency Vigeo has announced that PSA Peugeot Citroën's CSR performance rating has risen to 61.56/100 from 57.88/100 based on the previous evaluation in 2013.
The score enables the Group to remain in the Euronext Vigeo World 120, Euronext Vigeo Europe 120, Euronext Vigeo Eurozone 120 and Euronext Vigeo France 20 CSR indices.
The Vigeo rating is recognition of PSA's transparency and effectiveness in addressing CSR challenges and a clear sign of confidence in the Group's strategy – particularly for the finance industry.
Discussing the evaluation process, Karine Hillaireau, in charge of SRI rating agency relations, said: "We had in-depth discussions with the agency, where we gave point-by-point responses to its many questions on topics such as the environment, human resources, human rights, community involvement, accountability to customers, purchasing, ethics and governance. What makes PSA's improvement all the more remarkable is that it comes just after the Volkswagen scandal, which cast doubt on the credibility of the entire auto industry and led rating agencies to adopt a tougher, more stringent evaluation process."
