Groupe PSA’s Business Lab and Latin America Division partner with Cubo Itaú in Brazil
• Cubo Itaú is the largest technological entrepreneurship hub in Latin America
• The Business Lab is partnering with Cubo Itaú to step up Groupe PSA’s digital transformation in the region
Groupe PSA’s Business Lab is partnering with Cubo Itaú and its network of start-ups as part of the Group’s digital transformation drive in Latin America. The transformation is being led by the development of digital projects in a variety of areas, from quality of service and big data to manufacturing of the future and digital employees. The alliance will serve to structure and step up potential partnerships with start-ups in the Cubo Itaú community, giving them insight into the automotive industry’s technological needs and challenges.
Located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, Cubo Itaú is the largest hub for technological entrepreneurship in Latin America. Founded by Itaú Unibanco in partnership with Redpoint Eventures, the network currently leads strategic partnerships with 12 major Brazilian companies.
Created in December 2016 as part of the ‘Push to Pass’ strategic plan, the Business Lab works to promote close ties with innovative ecosystems worldwide, acting as the main entry point for start-ups and leveraging a network of partners in France and internationally. Its purpose is to identify, test and transform opportunities into new areas of business for Groupe PSA.
Fabricio Biondo, Vice President of Corporate Communication, Public Affairs and Digital for Groupe PSA’s Latin America Division, is the lead on the partnership. “A major digital transformation is under way at Groupe PSA”, he said. “We’re changing our processes and seeking out new solutions that will help the company become even more innovative and efficient, by making digital technology a competitive advantage.”
Joining forces with Cubo Itaú means:
• identifying innovative partnerships and setting up productive collaborative projects;
• sharing best practices with other Cubo Itaú partners;
• giving Groupe PSA employees access to workshops, conferences and training sessions offered by Cubo Itaú, as well as any other specific training programmes tailored to the company’s needs;
• instilling a culture of entrepreneurship among Groupe PSA employees in Latin America.
Anne Laliron, Business Lab Vice President, said: “Cubo Itaú has become one of the Business Lab’s major partners, in line with Groupe PSA’s commitment to develop and transform new business in all of its host regions by working with young, innovative companies. We have big ambitions in Latin America and the support of the Cubo Itaú ecosystem will be an asset for tackling challenges in the region.”
Lineu Andrade, Technology Officer at Itaú Unibanco and head of Cubo Itaú, said: “Groupe PSA’s arrival is symbolic of the kind of industry diversity that we encourage here at Cubo Itaú. We’re delighted to be able to put our resident members in contact with such a strategic player. It’s yet another alliance that shows we're on the right track.”
